There is often a big discussion about whether spiritual gifts are things that miraculously come when we become a Christian or whether they are natural talents that God uses, and it seems to me that it's really both. We experience both in our lives. It's not like the good at speaking and you're outward-going and everything and you become a Christian and all of a sudden you can't speak well and before you were good at doing math and now you are terrible at doing math. Those sorts of things don't happen much. There is a certain continuity. So, as we become a new creation there is a certain continuity with the past and so some of the strengths we have are natural talents. Youthfulness is not a disqualifier for possession of spiritual gifts!

WORKSHOP: Living on Top of the World (Facilitator, Pastor Velma Jean Overman)
What is God’s formula for victorious living?
God’s formula for victorious living is: God’s Capability + Our Availability = Limitless Possibility
Whatever we imagine God doing, He is able to do immeasurably more. What would you like to see God do? What is the greatest thing you can possibly imagine? Paul tells us that God is able to do immeasurably more than all we can ask for or imagine!
While we might face situations where the outlook does not look very bright, remember, with God, the up look is always bright!

Pastor Velma "Jeannie" Overman is a member of Christ Temple City of Refuge in Inkster, Mi, where Bishop L.C. Barnes Jr. and Lady Kaunita D. Barnes are her spiritual parents. Pastor O, as she is affectionately called, serves a Pastor of Ministries where she is responsible for the developing and maturing of ministries at C.T.C.O.R. as well as training of disciples and the building up of the five-fold ministry. She is married to Elder Harry Ajagu and has three beautiful children the oldest being Samantha Grace, Chisome Bernice and Harry Obinna Kingsley which is the youngest, and they have proven to be the greatest joy in her life. Samantha was saved and filled with the Holy Ghost at the early Age of nine years old, at Bible way C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of the late Reverend Davis. This was truly a pivotal point in her Life, it was at that point she was made aware of the Holy Sprit and it has kept her in perfect peace thru all the adversities of life. Samantha received many life accomplishments due to her very outgoing personality and great love with passion for helps to many. At Faith Tabernacle C.O.G.I.C under leadership of Bishop Lucas, Samantha learned the great importance of prayer and intercession, it was life changing.

WORKSHOP: MAINTAINING YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM IN THE SEASON OF CHANGE (Facilitator: Evangelist Karen L. Donald)
God appoints the times and seasons. These words are words for every person, in every place, in every circumstance. God has appointed the times and seasons, the events of our lives, the happy and the sad, the easy and the difficult. On one hand this can bring worry, but on the other hand, it should bring you hope because we know that God is in control. God exalts and humbles the same person. He raises nations up and brings them down. Even the day of our death has been set. God is in control. Sometimes you may wonder about that. It is easy to doubt that God has it all together when you look at the world. It doesn't seem to be doing all that well: Crime is up, abortion is up, homosexuality is on the rise, the nation is in debt, etc. It can be pretty discouraging. But, God has got it all under control. God has a purpose in what He does even if we have a heard time understanding what that purpose is. Romans 8:28, "And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose."

Evangelist Karen L. Donald has dedicated her life to helping others through inspirational and motivational workshops. Breaking the Chains, Season for Healing, along with motivation for Corporations and Families.
“Everyday is a second chance at life!” This is the personal testimony and mantra that is so often and eloquently spoken by Karen L. Donald. As a result, Karen stands boldly today as a beacon of triumph and victory. However, the road that this powerful woman has traveled to get to this point would make the average person cringe as if viewing a horror movie.
After years of this intense mental anguish, Karen decided one day that it was best for her to end it all. Obviously confused, distraught, frazzled, and weary, she sat, teary-eyed, with the barrel of a loaded handgun in her mouth. By now, this mother of twins had reached her breaking point. Between the moment she prayed that the Lord would send her children to a good home and pulling the trigger of the gun in her mouth—“God showed up and revealed His love” to Karen. A miracle had happened as she awakened the next day. Although Karen found herself lying next to the intended murder weapon, she had been given “a second chance at life” and freedom through a new relationship with Jesus Christ.
Today, Karen is an anointed minister and evangelist at Great Faith Ministries International in Detroit, Michigan, serving faithfully under her spiritual parents, Bishop Wayne and Pastor Beverly Jackson.
Karen L. Donald is truly a woman of personal victory. From drug abuse, rape, molestation, abandonment, and depression, she not only has overcome these life-threatening obstacles, she has dedicated her life to helping others toward the peace and freedom found in the Lord Jesus Christ. “Everyday is a second chance at life!” Karen Donald, the awesome Woman of God, global business leader, dynamic life-coach, wonderful mother, and restored person is truly taking advantage of hers and is sharing it with the world!
WORKSHOP: DEALING WITH THE 'I' IN V.I.C.T.O.R.Y. (Facilitator: Jennifer M. Glass)
We're dealing with a very serious time because we're in that perilous time the Apostle Paul spoke of. There must be an examination of our life, whether not we be in the faith whether or not we are a reprobate. That word examine means to prove your own self as to whether you are truly in the faith or not. These lessons are designed for that one purpose. We've seen what light, what darkness. We've seen what man fell from, what he must come back to. We've seen whether we're there or not. There must be a renouncing of the hidden things of darkness. All of this is to show us where we are in Christ.

Jennifer Marie Glass, affectionately known as "Jenn," is the first born to Pastor Lawrence C. and Lady Natalie A. Glass, Jr., of El Bethel Church (Redford, MI) and has been raised under the guide of true leadership. Jennifer has invested her time and talents in various areas of her life and for the last 20 years, has gradually emerged from under that umbrella as a member of El Bethel establishing herself as a not only a leader in the church—but a leader in life. She has been a Christian education instructor at El Bethel for the last 13 years and since 2008, has served as an instructor at the Michigan BME State Congress. Her transparency in ministry sets her apart from the rest and makes her lessons real and relevant to all the students who walk through her classroom doors. Jennifer has served in many other capacities in the church and has impacted them all.
In her professional life, Jennifer has been a legal assistant for the last ten years. Her current expertise is in the area of intellectual property. Her experience as a legal assistant has equipped her with skills that have made her successful in other areas of her life as well. Since 2002, Jennifer has also been an event planner. Complimented for her ability to develop events that epitomize the very essence of “simple, yet elegant”, regardless of the budget. Her ability to pay attention to detail is noticed and revered—one of her most glaring characteristics. It also makes it safe to say that Jennifer is one of the best in the field. She was recently asked to serve on the advisory board of a local children’s charity for their annual signature fundraising events.
It is important to acknowledge what Jennifer is to the people who interact with her every day. To some she is a sister, a cousin, a niece, a co-worker, a mother figure—and to others who are so fortunate---a friend. She is a pillar of guidance and strength and her wisdom is well beyond her years. When the noise of life occasionally subsides, Jennifer likes to spend quality time with family and friends, or curl up with a good read. But as the night of each day comes to a close, Jennifer ends her day, just how it started—with the Lord.
